Purpose of award: To honor high school students who distinguish themselves in their understanding of AynRand's novel Anthem.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be high school freshmen or sophomores who submit a 600-1200 word essay that will be judged on both style and content, with an emphasis on writing that is clear, articulate and logically organized. Winning essays must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the philosophic meaning of Anthem.
Target applicant: High school students
Minimum GPA: None
Amount: $30-$2,000.
Number of awards: 229.
Deadline: March 18.
