Hanoi Agricultural University

Hanoi Agricultural University was established on 12th October 1956. It was reorganized several times such as in 1958, 1960, 1963 and in 1967. This university is comprised of disciplines for rural and agricultural advancement of Vietnam. The contribution of this university in both these fields can not be ignored.

Hanoi Agricultural University is one of the major center of higher education, research as well as technology transfer in agriculture of Vietnam. It was foremerly known as Agro-Forestry University. It included four faculties such as Forestry, Farm Machinery Engineering, Agronomy, Animal and Veterinary Science. It was merged with the institutes of Farming Research, Animal Production and Forestry in 1958 and the Agro-Forestry institute was formed.

HAU also offered Agricultural Economics and Fisheries. It was divided into Agricultural University and Vietnam Agricultural Science Institute in 1963. The faculty of Forestry and Fisheries were also separated from it. At present the faculty it includes are
  • Faculty of Post-Graduate studies
  • Faculty of Marxism and Leninism
  • The Office of Political and Student Affairs
  • Faculty of Food Science and Technology
  • Faculty of Information Technology
  • Faculty of Economics and Rural Development
  • Faculty of Agronomy
  • Faculty of Education and Foreign Languages
  • Faculty of Land Resources and Environment
  • Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
  • Faculty of Engineering
Agricultural University of Hanoi is one of the leading agricultural center of the country. The university is trying to provide more and more manpower to increase the productivity of the agricultural field to satisfy the social, physical and economic and ecological needs of the people of Vietnam. The researchers are aiming at using new methods that are eco-friendly.
